Divine Epithets

…………tonight before the doors of the big red house

I’ve seen the eyes of the warrior again

                                         eleggua

                                          tongue

red with blood like the heart of irons

gold feet one larger

the fiery roof

the rearing beaming chest

bursting out in shrieks

                                    eleggua leaps

imagines songs

grazes space with a copper dagger

who will consent to him

if not the stone

if not the white coconut tree

who will gather the shells of his eyes

Introduction

As a photographer, I see my camera as a compass, much like Eleggua’s eyes, guiding me through the intricate journey of life. Just as Eleggua, the warrior with eyes that see beyond the ordinary, leaps through space, bursting with energy and imagination, I strive to capture fleeting moments that reveal deeper truths. Each click of the shutter is my own dance with the unknown, crystallizing fragments of human emotions, faith and the impact of religion on our lives. My work echoes Eleggua’s search, gathering the shells of insight that illuminate our shared existence.
